Here are a few web links related to geography, cities, economies, and other things that interest me.
Partner Businesses
The Dallas-Fort Worth region is fortunate to have an exceptionally deep and diverse business community that includes several firms that deliver geographic analysis of businesses and markets for a wide range of clients and application areas. The websites of these businesses give insight into the kinds of location-based services that geographers provide related to businesses and cities. All of the following businesses are current and/or past employers of UNT Geography students (internships) and alumni (full-time positions):

Outstanding Alumni
Several of our location intelligence alumni have been recognized for their achievements in the workplace.
- One location intelligence graduate, Joshua Bova (MS, 2018), was featured in a summer 2019 North Texan profile of UNT Geography alumni who use GIS to solve real-world problems in their daily work.
- Three UNT location intelligence graduates were featured in the 125 UNT Alumni of Excellence list associated with UNT's 125th anniversary celebrations.
Analytical Software
There are a few primary software resources that I emphasize in my classroom teaching. Each of the below are excellent GIS/analytical packages that combine a solid core of analytical capabilities with good datasets. I recommend all of these packages highly:
- Caliper's Maptitude desktop GIS package
- The Alteryx advanced data analytics package
- Esri's Business Analyst Web App (BA Web) cloud GIS package
Video Resources
Here is a video collection, starting with the videos I created to introduce different topics on this website. The video collection comments on different aspects of my work, wrapping up with a catchy video ("Five Themes of Geography") that I just think is great (but no, I am not in it).
